Advocate Medical Group – Lakeview Outpatient Center

Advocate Medical Group - Lakeview Outpatient Center - Entrance at Dusk

For the greater part of a decade, Boldt has served as part of an Integrated Lean Project Delivery® (ILPD) team for the master planning, design and construction for the Advocate Medical Group & Dreyer clinics, medical office and ambulatory facilities in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan area. This team was formed to help transform the AMG and Dreyer clinics delivery of ambulatory care. To date, the team has completed more than two dozen projects together.

One such clinic is the Lakeview Outpatient Center. Located in a busy Chicago neighborhood, the Boldt project team transformed what was once a Sports Authority store into a full-scale office building and ambulatory clinic, providing cardiology, endocrinology, urgent care, internal medicine, neurology, obstetrics, gynecology and more. Transforming the ~70-year-old building involved earth retention, structural upgrades, stair tower upgrades, new underground utilities, life safety and rating upgrades, enclosure upgrades, MEP upgrades, interior buildout and commissioning.

Project Highlights

  • Despite facing challenges presented by the building’s age and poor condition stemming from numerous renovations since its construction in the 1960s, using the collaborative ILPD model, the project was delivered on schedule and at 8% under the allowable costs.
  • Prefabricated elements were used throughout the interior of the building to accelerate the construction schedule.
  • The AMG IPD team has delivered more than 26 projects since its formation.
